PROMOTING PEACE

IPP places special focus on collaborative approaches to conflict prevention, and peace building, working with diverse actors from civil society, governments, intergovernmental bodies, women groups and other actors in a bid to establish a platform for dialogue, experience sharing and learning, thereby complementing efforts at ensuring sustainable peace and development in Ghana and beyond.

Our conflict resolution programme aims at enabling IPP’s involvement in search of a peaceful settlement of crisis at its nascent stage. It promotes inter and intra communal dialogue and peaceful coexistence, as well as enhances the mediating capacities of communities and other relevant groups.

IPP seeks to promote the culture of nonviolence and peace within the globe with particular focus on children, youth and women in schools and in the informal sector. The programme promotes peer mediation and peace clubs in schools as well as peace education curriculums at various levels: schools, colleges, teachers’ training colleges, universities and policy level. Peace building is not an event but rather a process which when properly inculcated in the minds and comportment of children, youth and adult; they will become agents of change – this is the philosophy behind IPP Peace Building.

We appreciate and recognize establishments that could help support our mandate to help make the world free of conflicts and violence. Our focus on peace promotion includes;

To promote solidarity and harmonious coexistence between religious bodies and political actors

To educate and engage the public on the causes, effects and the means of eradication of such conflicts and injustice

To sensitize international philanthropic communities on the importance of proactive peace-building and measures as a means of combating conflict and violence.
